Why MiCHWA
MiCHWA exists to promote the professional interest of Michigan’s community health workers (CHWs) and the community health worker profession as a whole. Since 2011, MiCHWA has worked collaboratively with CHWs, CHW employers and Allies across the State to lead the charge in CHW advocacy, training, registry and sustainability. As a professional association, we integrate equity into every aspect of our work with active CHW leadership at all levels of MiCHWA including our Board of Directors, staff and workgroups.
Our Mission:
To promote and sustain the integration of community health workers (CHWs) into health and human services organizations throughout Michigan through coordinated changes in policy and workforce development.
Our Vision:
Michigan has a trained and sustained community health worker (CHW) workforce.
