Over the past several weeks, we’ve been sharing information about changes to our Continuing Education Unit (CEU) requirements. These changes are now effective today, May 31st, 2024!
Previously, our policy required CHW members to complete 20 CEUs every two (2) years and pay an annual renewal fee. After discussions at our CHW Network meeting and receiving member feedback, we’re excited to be implementing the following changes:
- Earn 6 CEUs each year
- Pay the $50 renewal fee each year.
Please note that you cannot pay your renewal fee without completing your 6 CEUs.
Additionally, to find your updated CHW Certification Card, simply visit “My Account” and “Membership”. You can download your updated card with the new renewal dates reflected.
Important: This card does NOT serve as a certification of completion for the Michigan Medicaid CHW Registry. You MUST have the physical certificate for proof of completion.

1. How do I upload external CEUs?
To upload external CEUs, follow these steps:
- Click on the “Continuing Education” tab.
- Look for the button labeled “Add Activity” under the CEU tracking chart.
- Fill out the required information, ensuring to upload a Certificate documenting the training’s name, date, your name, and the completed contact hours. We accept a minimum of 0.5 CEUs (30 minutes).
2. How can I enroll in internal courses for CEUs?
To enroll in internal courses, follow these steps:
- Click the “Online Training Tab”.
- Navigate to the “Training Catalogue” by clicking the large button.
- Find the desired course, enroll, watch the video content, and submit the feedback assignment to obtain your CEUs.
