Meet Stacie Blomquist!
Stacie began her career as a Childcare Worker (Community Health Worker) for children affected by AIDS in Chicago. This opportunity sparked a 20+ year career in non-profit organization development and administration and a life-long passion for serving those most vulnerable by working to increase access to healthcare and eliminate health disparities; reduce food insecurities; increase housing availability and supportive services; and create opportunities to achieve self-sufficiency. Stacie has worked at local, regional, state, and national levels to foster partnerships and coalitions—believing in Margaret Mead’s wisdom to, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”
Stacie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in creative and technical writing from Michigan State University and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration with an emphasis on Health Care Administration from Northern Michigan University. She loves to connect with nature and spend time with her husband, son, and two dogs.
Meet Eboni Banks!
Eboni Banks is passionate about education and she knows that through education and teaching, it allows her to make a difference in the world. “Teaching is important as it prepares students to take their success and knowledge to a career field which will sustain their livelihood,” she says. Eboni is an advocate for community health workers and the training provided to advance learners into the profession. Eboni has been teaching at the college level for more than 22 years. She has provided leadership and oversight over adult and graduate degree programs offered at a distance. As a subject matter expert and learning architect, Eboni has provided her expertise to countless universities and colleges worldwide and has taught in the Middle East in both Muscat Oman and for the Saudi Educational University system.
When Eboni is not teaching or leading programs, she enjoys travel, meeting diverse people and fine dining. She’s also a writer (and reciter) of poetry, as well as an equestrian.
“People come from various backgrounds and all walks of life and share the desire to learn in common,” she says. “Even though we don’t all learn the same way, the desire to learn is what connects us together.”
