Advancing Wellness and Health for All through Quality Improvement
This is a beginner’s workshop designed to engage and train practitioners on the foundations of Quality Improvement (QI) and the Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycle.
The workshop:
- Leads with the principle that there is no quality without attention to the needs of all populations.
- Brings practical, accessible information to professionals and providers who are unfamiliar with QI and/or with using data and information to guide improvement efforts.
- Introduces participants to QI concepts and critical tools that support the provision of services that advance wellness and health for all populations.
- Emphasizes how QI helps professionals and providers to better meet the varied needs of those who are providing, receiving, and partnering in services.
- Supports participants in centering the needs of all populations throughout the PDSA cycle.
This workshop is interactive. Participants will engage in small- and large-group discussions, polling, and hands-on activities, and will have the opportunity to practice and apply what they are learning.
The virtual workshop will take place over five (5) three-hour sessions conducted in a two-and-a-half-week period. There is also a virtual, hands-on, 90-minute follow-up session after the workshop to provide participants with an opportunity to engage with one another, share experiences in applying concepts, explore questions and challenges, and to further their learning. Participants must attend all workshop sessions and complete an evaluation survey to receive 14.00 credit hours for specific disciplines in which CEs are being provided and are eligible to receive an additional 1.5 credit hours by attending the 90-minute follow-up session. All those who attend the full workshop can receive a certificate of attendance.
